The claim of some kind of oppression or other adverse condition being inflicted against the claimant personally or to a group/faith to which the claimant belongs to that is obviously hyperbolic or at least certainly exaggerated in terms of severity.

Generally Ted's libertarian beliefs seemed to have merit until he went fully down the fauxpression road by claiming that taxes literally made him a slave.

Hypocritical middle-class white people who think they're liberals when they're really just Democrats. Middle class white people who refuse to take off their Happy Magic Fun Privilege Goggles and see the world around them for what it really is. Self-identified "liberals" who remain willfully ignorant of the struggles faced by members of oppressed races and classes, despite being alerted to their blind spots by their peers. Fauxgressives may decline to participate in social justice activities and movements because they live in large cities and believe that racism, classism, ableism and other forms of prejudice and oppression don't exist anymore. Fauxgressives will cling to their ignorance as an excuse to maintain their social, racial and economic privilege.

Individuals that purport to be advocates of science and progress but that ignore all science and evidence that is contradictory to their ideology. The fauxprogressive group consists of marxists, neo-marxists, social justice warriors, people that have blind faith in government subjugation and naively believe that an all powerful government can fix all of the world's problems, people that devolve to ad hominem attacks and that refuse to engage with the ideas of their opponents, all the people that want to destroy classical liberalism, the people that refuse to acknowledge progress and claim that nothing has changed since 1776 or the 1950s, people who think that everyone who doesn't have the same exact beliefs as them are evil idiots, people who have blind faith in the oppressor vs oppressed narrative, people that are members of the anti-racism cult that hate MLK's humanist vision, people that believe that destroying the property and livelihood of innocent third parties is somehow helping to improve society, innocent fundamentalist reductionist that reduce everything to being about power or immutable physical characteristics, and people that love revisionist bullshit.

Fauxgressive: the patriarchy is oppressing everyone.

Someone that values logic, reason, and evidence based argument: Is your claim based upon any evidence and is it falsifiable?
