Nothing is true, Everything is permitted

The dictum of the Order of the Assassins, as heard in Assassins Creed 1 and 2. First spoken by Altair’s master Al Mualim, “Nothing is True” exhibits the cynicism that the Assassins carry towards religion and fantasy, while “Everything is Permitted” represents their dedication the Order and the brutality of their work.

The Assassins in Ubisoft’s AC are based off of a real group active during the Crusades, called the Hashshashins, from which the word “Assassin” is derived.

Nothing is true, Everything is permitted

Within the realm of philosopher, opposed to Assassins Creed, "Nothing is True. Everything is permitted." refers to the nature of reality and our perception of it. "Nothing is true" means that everything we sense and process in our minds is filtered reality, limited by our own bodies. We will never see reality objectively but just through the lens of our eyes, ears, etc. "Everything is permitted" branches off of this first statement; since nothing is true, the mind can generate its own reality. Hence, everything is permitted. This makes more sense in the context of drugs, particularly psychedelics, that enable the mind to perceive things that are very much disconnected from objective reality.
After taking a fuckton of LSD, John realized: Nothing is true, Everything is permitted as he imagined and saw a pink lion in front of him with a glowing mane.

do nothin', get everythin'

Describes the mentality that some teens have in terms of receiving whatever they desire effortlessly. This is commonly found among spoiled children, teen sloths, and unmotivated, bitchy people.

Important to note that while not having to lift a finger, many with this mentality will complain, try win-lose bargaining, or self-pity to obtain what they desire.

Parents/guardians often fall in these forms of conflicts. If not dealt with early, this mentality will remain with the individual for many years.
1.) Pat is irresponsible, bad in school, and an overall ass, but his parents get him whatever because he complains like a little bitch, i.e. a "do nothin', get everythin" tactic.

2.) Marina gets whatever she wants, but if she is rejected something that she clearly has not earned, she'll promise to do chores. Because of her "do nothin', get everythin'" mentality, she does not fulfill that promise down the line.
