To deliberately fall off a motorcycle in order to prevent a much worse accident.

Usually a skid can end in two ways, either you fall off the low side of the bike, or the high side. Dumping the bike garuntees a low-side, which is much less painfull.

I was skidding towards a tree, so I just dumped it and walked away.
