you know that weird black star symbol on your keyboard? or is it a flower? who cares. anyways, asterisks are usually used in bad words to cancel out the vowels such as “f*ck” or “sh*t”

so instead of using a bad word, why not just call someone an asterisk? they will most likely not know what you are talking about, but you will since you’re reading this post right now. when someone pisses you off, call them an asterisk. or text them one. * haha see what i did there

Asterisk

A star shaped symbol (*) used to correct or clarify a spelling mistake when said mistake cannot be edited. Typically you'll see these types of corrections in chat rooms, text messages, or fast comment chains. These corrections can be applied by the original commenter or by another person.

austerity program

(ECONOMICS) when a government has to restructure spending by massively cutting social programs, development programs, and subsidies on basic necessities. Often accompanied by taxes increases, especially on lower incomes (since the poor cannot escape tax hikes).

Usually we use the term "austerity program" when the government in question has to backtrack on its ideological commitments. An example of this is France, after June 1982. The Socialist government of Mitterrand had just implemented a raft of major new social welfare programs, and was promptly forced to cut everything back when the deficit ballooned.
