May be seen as the first step of Twitter, and other Social Media platforms, as a legitimate news source with First Amendment implications/protections.
Courtney Love being sued for a 2010 Twitter post regarding her attorney. "Twibel" was coined by concatenating Twitter + Libel. The term was used in reports by various sources including ABC News, the Huffington Post, Media Bistro, and the American Bar Association Journal. A jury found in favor of Ms. Love in January 2014 (i.e., cleared).
