Social Media Stockholme Syndrome

It is the condition in which one will complain about social media sites while continuing to use them pretty heavily. The most common social media site to inspire the condition is Facebook.
J: I hate facebook. I hate how it's just a government-spying-corporate-datamining-social-manipulation tool.
Q: Well, then why do you keep checking your news feed, J?

J: Sigh.
Q: Is it possible you've come down with a case of Social Media Stockholme Syndrome?

social media sympathy

Their social media sympathy is ridiculous, one minute they post how they hate everyone and want to be left alone, then complain how nobody pays them any attention.

Social Media Super-Colonies

Social Media Super-Colonies is taken from the Argentine Ants in California that have created a colony which spreads hundreds of miles and contains billions of ants hence the Super part of the phrase.

Ants are the most social insects inviting and joining communities within their colonies. The same way that social media works when going viral.

Social Media Super-Colonies refers to inviting people to connect and join online communities which anyone can be part of, however as with any colony they have a defence barrier when it comes to other colonies.
A prime example would be Apple Inc. Apple have created a Social Media Super-Colonies which have the entire world connected. It also has large competitors which they continually put a defensive barrier up and compete to be the best.

Social Media Studies

An interdisciplinary field that examines social media platforms as objects of serious scholarly inquiry—analyzing their architecture, algorithms, user practices, economic models, and social effects. Social media studies draws on sociology, anthropology, communication, media studies, and computer science to understand how platforms shape identity, community, politics, and culture. It investigates phenomena like algorithmic curation, influencer economies, digital activism, online harassment, and the transformation of public discourse. The field moves beyond “good or bad” debates to ask how social media actually operates and what it is doing to human interaction.
Example: “Her social media studies research traced how TikTok’s recommendation algorithm created transnational youth subcultures that operated independently of traditional geographic or linguistic boundaries.”

Social Media Slut

A Social Media Slut is someone who lives for online attention — posting thirst traps, flirty tweets, notes, and spicy story posts like they’re running a full-time digital seduction business.
In real life, they’re low-key, unbothered, and not even outside like that. The “slut” part is strictly internet-only energy — people might assume they’re wild, but in reality, they barely talk to anybody offline. It’s all virtual vibes and validation.
“Don’t let the posts fool you — he a Social Media Slut. That man be thirst-trapping every day but wouldn’t even look nobody in the eye in person.”
