(n) A fairly quiet girl that reads and studies a lot, but gets intoxicated on Friday and Saturday nights. Most slephanies usually don't recall their slephanieness from the night before, and slephanies are usually fiercely opposed to being labeled a slephanie, but most of their friends know the truth nonetheless.

The exact etymology of the word is hotly debated by scholars, but the general consensus is that "slephanie" was originally derived from sloppy and may be related to a word with almost an identical meaning - sliz.

She was being such a slephanie last night, and she doesn't even remember!

1. To carry something heavy.
2. To carry something in a dragging fashion, as if tired.
3. To go somewhere, particularly somewhere far away or otherwise difficult to reach; often implies resentment of putting forth such effort.

The elevator was broken, so I had to shlep the TV set up five flights of stairs.
