Pull a Suárez

To pull a Suárez is to sacrifice yourself in a disastrous situation to slightly reduce the odds of failure of the ones around you.

Coined to honor Luis Suárez whose intentional handball in the 2010 FIFA World Cup Quarterfinal against Ghana did get him a red card, but helped Uruguay stay in the tournament. They went on the win that match on penalties :)

Adhiraj: Dude if your girlfriend brings her weird friend along, I am NOT gonna hook up with her.

a uruguayan football player who used his hands to stop a goal in the World Cup quarterfinals against ghana. uruguay ended up winning the match on penalties. a hero to some, villain to others, but he's still top quality regardless of ethics. he plays his club football for ajax in holland.
