Foreigners, tourists, immigrants and those who feel themselves to be Aussies but do not totally fit the criteria e.g. those who refuse to eat Vegemite or beetroot on their burgers, or drink beer, or don't understand what "bringing a plate" means, or what lamingtons are, or an Esky is, or watch the footy, or mow the lawn in thongs are only quasi Aussies, not fair dinkum Aussies.

My husband might be an Australian citizen, and might have lived in Australia for the last 20 years, but he is still a Quaussie. He refuses to eat Vegemite sandwiches, or a burger with beetroot on it and still thinks when the football is advertised he will be able to watch a soccer match!

Pay Quasi

Pay Quasi is a movement started in 2021 after whistleblowers discovered The Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers Association (SFWA) had allocated $100,000 in its funds to illegally finance a frivolous lawsuit for a man named Patrick S. Tomlinson. Tomlinson, who tried to sue an anonymous webforum admin following a series of negative book reviews later lost in court after a judge found his lawsuit did not have any merit. The judge also ruled Tomlinson must pay $30,000 in legal fees to the anonymous forum admin for wasting his time and money in court.

Activists alledge that the SFWA diverted member donations to the lawsuit without the knowledge of its members. The lawsuit has become notorious online amongst literary forums and science fiction reviewers due to the unethical and potentially illegal actions committed by the SFWA and the ridiculous claims and behavior of Tomlinson online and in court.
