old school purist

One who is dedicated to the original and best version of various things. One who is not swayed in any way by trends, fads, styles, etc. of things. One who insists on high quality and is not interested in cheap knockoffs. One who detests all things that are inferior, even though these inferior things are hyped and promoted by the mainstream.

An old school purist who games would insist on playing the Original Dungeons & Dragons instead of all the later developed cheap imitations of the real thing.

A an old fashioned, homeschooling mother who thinks that girls should suffer during warm weather because shorts and tank tops will turn them into strippers destined for hell.

*girl walks into room wearing a weather-appropriate but not revealing tank top and jeans*

Puritan mother: Oh my goodness! Put some clothes on before you end up spending the rest of your life in a brothel!

Girl: But look at Zack! He's shirtless and his jeans are so low we can practically see all of his boxers! Why is that ok??

Puritan mother: Because I'm a sexist bitch.

Album Purist

Someone who listens to entire albums instead of just a few songs here and there. Person who follows albumism. Also albumer or albumist. Opposite of songer or songist.

Some album purist was aching me for buying a few songs off of iTunes.
