A trip, typically to a technical conference in the field of one's employment or to a convention of a nerdy/geeky persuation, that one enjoys on an intellectual level as much as a vacation for general relaxation.

That week-long trip to the photovoltaic conference in Germany was the best nerdcation I've had in years!

nerdrage

The overwhelming anger of a nerd when something or someone gets the "facts" wrong on a geeky subject such as Star Trek, Dungeons & Dragons, Lunix, etc.

Nerd: "So what do you think about Star Trek?"

Human: "Isn't that the space show with Captain Jean Luc Skywalker?"

Nerd seethes and painstakingly explains in erudite detail on the differences between Star Wars and Star Trek.

Human sits there, pretends to think for a long moment, then says: But he's still a Jedi, right?

Nerd's head explodes from the massive influx of nerdrage.

Nerd: "Lunix truly is the superior operating system!"

Human: "Microsoft Windows is better."

Nerd: "WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY!??!!?!??!?!!!!?!?!"

Human: "Well, more programs run for it. And free stuff just sucks, man."

Nerd's eyes become bloodshot, face beet-red, and steam shoots from his ears.

Human: "Bill Gates is my hero."

Nerd: "I'LL FUCKING KILL YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" *heart attack*

a term heavily used in the Aerospace Engineering field describing one who is extremely accomplished technologically and/or scientifically. As a result this person is almost entirely inept in social situations.

I thought it was extremely nerdatronic of him to give me a model airplane on our anniversary.

Nerduration

A large flock of nerds that wreak environmental havoc wherever they convene.

There was a nerduration at my job at the convention center for some local comicon thing and it turned ugly when an argument broke out between who would win in a fight, Thanos or Lex Luthor. Then it became an even larger epic battle between DC fans and Marvel fans. After the brawl subsided (it was quick cause they all quickly ran out of breath for some reason) we had to triage the injuries that ranged from being poked in the chest or hit with a plastic toy light saber. After the convention it took us 3 days to air the place out.

a person who thinks their jokes are funny and intelligent but really just highlights their lack of humourous range.

nerdwatcher

a person who pays close attention to the activities of members of the internet and telecommunications technology community. nerdwatching is facilitated by emerging applications through which members of this community can report on their activities (e.g. twitter, qik.com). these technologies are a common focus of members' attention, as are the reports of other members of the community resulting in a feedback loop, in which nerds feed information to other nerds, the audience and participants overlap, and nerdwatchers beget nerdwatchers. see also metanerd.
