misplate

To order the wrong dish in a dining establishment. To make poor menu choices, especially in a very "foodie" restaurant.

We went to Jean Georges, but we misplated and ended up disappointed. Next time, we'll see what The N.Y. Times recommends on the menu and stick with that.

Someone, usually a virgin, who is overly eager to be sexually active but can't get any ass. Will usually make up completely transparently fake stories about great sex he's had in the past.

He says he's hooked up with some foreign chick, but I think he's really just a pathetic mindslut.

mindsplain

A word that neurotypical people use to patronize someone with autism or other neurodivergences when they have projected their assumptions about universal mental states onto them after the person shares insights or perspectives without considering individual differences in theory of mind.

When the neurotypical lecturer started mindsplaining how everyone intuitively understands sarcasm, the autistic student felt dismissed and interrupted to explain their unique perspective on social cues.

midsplaining

A pejorative term referring to when a midlevel (e.g. nurse practitioner, physician assistant, etc) comments on or explains medical knowledge to a physician in an overconfident and often oversimplified manner.

Nurse Practitioner: "I think we should always order pregnancy tests for female clients. It's the only way to practice."
Physician: "Not if they've had a bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy. Remember your limitations and cut down on the midsplaining."

Mansplat

Mansplaining in which the ‘splainer has no damn idea what he’s talking about.

Backyard work continues. It’s been raining so limited what we can do. I suggest that we pick up the materials (trex decking material) to get that chore out of the way. He mansplatted: You want to haul off that stuff when it’s pouring?!? The last thing we want is for that stuff to get soaked.
