Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (stylized as MARIOKART 8 DELUXE and abbreviated to MK8DX) is a Mario Kart racing game exclusive to the Nintendo Switch. It is the enhanced port (or reboot) version of Mario Kart 8 and was released worldwide on April 28, 2017. It was released in South Korea on December 15, due to the Nintendo Switch being released on December 1 there.

Mario karted

Being in 1st place on the third lap in Mario kart. And being 10 seconds from the finish line, when you get smacked by a blue shell, then a red shell, then knocked off the course, brought back in by lakitu, hit by a bullet bill, and a star, causing you to fall off again, and then you finish in 12th place

Player 1: I'm about to win!

*knocked off*
*ran over by bullet*
*hit by starman*

*falls off again*

Marco Diaz

Male lead and deuteragonist of Star vs. the Forces of Evil. An insecure safe kid/bad boy who comes out of his shell thanks to Star. Many fans of the show call him a harem protagonist because he is shipped with a lot of girls in the show like Star, his best friend who has a crush on him, Jackie who is his crush from kindergarten who later became his girlfriend, Janna who is a stalker friend of Marco and probably has a crush on him, and Hekapoo who is the dimensional scissors enforcer and forger and a member of the Magic High Commission and Marco probably dated her during his 16 year trial in her dimension which is 8 minutes in Earth while Jackie is still his girlfriend.

To be in the lead in something or to have a streak of success, only to have your success snatched away from you at the last moment, possibly through unfair or unjust means on the part of the person beating you.

Popularised from the game's frequent result in which a 1st place can be snatched away just before the finish line with a powerup.

Can be used as a more friendly version of cockblocked.
