The Hanahaki disease is a fictional disease that makes you throw up flowers or flower petals. There is no chosen flower type, it only depends on the victim's favorite color or type of flower. It starts with someone loving another person but, The other person already loves someone. Then the victim starts to throw up, the victim expecting barf, but no. It's flower petals or flowers. The flowers and petals stay in the victim's lungs until the crush says they love them. But if the crush does not say they love the victim in time, The victims lungs will fill up with more flowers and petals until they suffocate and die.
I ran home. Covering my mouth, I unlocked the door and tried to run to the upstairs bathroom. But I started coughing a lot. I knew I had to clean my barf up. I opened my mouth and closed my eyes. I felt something touching my hands lightly. I opened my eyes and noticed it was a single flower and flower petal swirling in my blood. This was the fifth time this month. The Hanahaki Disease... I suddenly dropped to the floor and started choking. There was no one in the house. I felt my lungs filling up with flowers and flower petals. My vision got blurry and I had a vision of my crush. 'heh, who said love couldn't kill?' I said slightly. My eyes closed slowly. 'I love you.' I whispered slightly.

The disease is written in Japanese graphic novels such as Manga and fanfiction. The favorite flower of the person whom you share this love for begins to invade your lungs and throat as the days go by. The longer one waits to share this love the quicker the flowers begin to grow. Sometimes the person will only cough up the petals but in others, it's the petals and full flowers. The only way one can rid themselves of this disease is either by sharing these feelings with the person and getting the same love back or by surgery. However, by getting the surgery it means it'll take any adoration and love you had for the person away. You'll be left with numbness to take the place of that love for them. If you do not speak your unrequited love and/or get the surgery you end up dying.
"Shock engulfed her whole being as she took notice of the limp dead body laying on the bathroom floor. Petals surround him and fill the toilet in front of him. She felt her stomach churn at the sight of so much blood. As she bent down she took notice of how the petals and flowers were her favorite flower. Why didn't he tell her he had hanahaki? Her heart ached as she realised Hanahaki disease is a disease that happens to someone when they share a one-sided love for another that can result in death. If only she saved him soon enough. His eyes were dull and filled with death. 'I love you,' she whispers, brokenly.'
