Grabass or grab-ass is stupid horseplay.
Grab-ass is always associated with men and boys trying to avoid work or some other responsibility.
Commonly used in the Southern States.

The boss sees his workers fooling around and wasting time. He says, "OK let's stop the grab ass and get to work."

When two people (especially egotistical smart people) flirt with each other using their intelligence to debate a scholarly issue.

An example of an instance of intellectual grabass would be:

Male professor: "Didn't you think Nietzsche's "Will to Power" was the most influencial work of its day?"

Female professor: "Heavens yes! Foucult, Sarte, and Camus would be utterly unispired without it."
