Gill is a surname found in the Sardar Jatt community. The Gill Jatt clan is found in the Punjab regions straddling eastern Pakistan and northwestern India, mainly Lahore in Pakistan and Majha and Malwa in Punjab. It is one of the largest and most aristocratic (upper-class, noble) of the Jatt clans. Many Gill's have been known to hold the highest positions in government and come from wealthy backgrounds.
