flop there is no in-between and it all depends on context clues. One might assume the term especially when referring to
food means something is crunchy, however any good
food can be crunch regardless of texture. This being the case crunch's etymological origins are unclear: It could be related to
food texture, visual appearance, or similar slang term crunchy.
This term is often used within queer communities which
may have been where the term originated from culturally.
In her
2016 single Puppet Alaska Thunderfuck 5000 said "Look at that mug go crunch,crunch, crunch" while this
effectively utilizes the term it doesn't explain it to a casual audience. On the
