The first time our identified from Negro, Colored to Black was in the 60'. After the organization of the "Black Panthers" and desegregated in the Southern states; Mr. James Brown, published a song "I am Black and Proud". Then all "Colored people start referring themselves as "Black". Mr. Jessie Jackson in 1987, after a video game had degrading content about "Black people" changed blacks identity to "African-Americans".
