Psycho-analytic awareness

A disability affecting some people when they are trying to fall asleep. Psycho-analytic awareness sufferers will focus on any noise (most commonly the television or room mates talking) to the point where they cannot fall asleep. This likely is caused by the individuals unconscious attempts to make sentences and paragraphs out of the words they hear just before sleep. Can often cause sleeplessness and insomnia.

Marie left the television on the Food Network in the living room again last night. I layed away all night listening to it through the wall because of my psycho-analytic awareness.

Hyper-Analytic Paralysis

The state of being unable to act because of excessive analysis—overthinking every angle, anticipating every outcome, calculating every risk until decision becomes impossible. Hyper-analytic paralysis is what happens when the analytic mind, instead of serving action, replaces it. The sufferer doesn't make decisions; they make analyses of analyses, recursively trapped in thought without end. This condition is endemic among intellectuals, perfectionists, and anyone who has ever spent two hours choosing a restaurant on a food delivery app. The cure is not more analysis but the recognition that some decisions don't warrant it. Not every choice is life-or-death; some are just lunch.

Hyper-Analytic Paralysis xample: "He spent a month analyzing whether to ask her out—calculating probabilities, rehearsing scenarios, weighing outcomes. Hyper-analytic paralysis had him completely. By the time he decided to act, she was dating someone else. Analysis had cost him the very thing he was analyzing."

Continental-Analytic Philosophy

A synthetic approach that seeks to bridge the divide between Continental and Analytic philosophical traditions, drawing on the strengths of both. Continental-Analytic Philosophy combines the Continental focus on history, culture, and power with the Analytic commitment to clarity, argument, and precision. It recognizes that both traditions have valuable insights and that the divide between them has been historically exaggerated and philosophically unproductive. Continental-Analytic Philosophy is the philosophy of reconciliation, of synthesis, of recognizing that there are many ways to do philosophy and that we need them all.

Example: "He'd been trained in the Analytic tradition and dismissed Continental philosophy as mush. Then he encountered Continental-Analytic Philosophy and saw what he'd been missing: the insights of Foucault and Derrida, expressed with clarity and rigor. The synthesis wasn't compromise; it was enrichment."

Critical Theory of Analytic Philosophy

The application of Critical Theory to the analytic tradition in philosophy—examining its assumptions, its methods, its exclusions, and its relationship to power. Critical Theory of Analytic Philosophy asks: Why does analytic philosophy privilege certain problems and methods? How has it defined itself against "continental" philosophy, and what politics are in that boundary? Whose voices are excluded from the analytic canon? How has analytic philosophy been complicit in or resistant to domination? It doesn't reject analytic philosophy but insists it must be self-aware about its own history, its own politics, its own limitations.

"Analytic philosophy is just rigorous, they say. Critical Theory of Analytic Philosophy asks: rigorous by whose standards? Rigor about what? The focus on logic and language serves some purposes but ignores others—history, power, embodiment. Analytic philosophy isn't wrong; it's partial. Critical theory insists on asking: what does this tradition include, and what does it exclude—and who benefits from those exclusions?"

Analytics

The simplest definition of Analytics is "the science of analysis". In reality, the word "Analytics" has not been properly defined by the professional community and may mean different things to different people. A simple and practical definition, however, would be how an entity(i.e., business) arrives at the most optimal or realistic decision from a variety of available options, based on existing data. Business managers may choose to make decisions based on past experiences or rule of thumb, or there might be other qualitative aspects to decision making; but unless there is data involved in the process, it would be considered beyond the purview of analytics. Another definition could be that Analytics is a field of study / profession that has applications in any field (business / social / political / home) where data is available.

Common applications of Analytics include the study of business data using statistical analysis in order to discover and understand historical patterns with an eye to predicting and improving business performance in the future.
