Refers to an African American participating in an activity outside of his normal environment (or what "society" feels is his normal environment).

Examples include:

1. Michael Steele, Republican Party Chair

2. Willy T. Ribbs or Bill Lester, NASCAR drivers

3. Willie O'Ree, NHL player

4. Andre Horton or Suki Horton, Alpine skiers

Girl #1: Did you see Michael Steele on the Today show yesterday spouting his Republican drivel?

Sister #2: Nah. I try to keep afrabnormality like that at a distance.

an amazing cute girl with curly black hair. she has a nice smile that can light up the whole room. she brings light into others darkness. although an afra is a very nice and cheerful girl, don't ever get her mad. she will become your worst nightmare. she tries very hard to achieve her goals and will not let anyone get in her way. she takes her education very seriously. she doesn't really care for guys as other girls do. she prefers to eat ice cream and really doesn't care if she gets a little chubby. All in all, an afra is someone you should really keep in your life if she walks in your way.
