advertrolling

Garnering attention for a product or service by trolling the politically correct public for reactionary outrage.
Example: Amazon launched a highly successful advertrolling campaign for "Man in the High Tower" on November 24, 2015, when it plastered a New York City subway with Nazi symbolism. The offensive symbolism was promptly removed in response to public outcry, as was expected, but not before the show, which paints a grim picture of an alternate reality in which the Axis powers had won WWII, had received a great deal of attention.
