A term used for when somebody is “hyping” or “exaggerating” someone or something up too much.

“The test was super hard today, I could barely even answer one question” said Jim. “bro stop amping, it wasn’t even that bad” said Terry.

An amp is someone who is complaining loudly about something. Usually the stuff the amp complains about no one else cares about or is irrelevant. To amp is pretty much to bitch, complain, or to exaggerate grotesquely.
