History Songhits came from the name of teh magazine from the 60's called "Song Hits". Song Hits became famous by publishing several copies with Nora Aunor and Tirso Cruz III on its covers.

short for "Ang Puta" in tagalog which means "The Bitch". When said fast the phrase sounds like "ampotah".
