Mostly a term used in describing a footballer playing well for the team but also can be used in other situations too. It pretty much means "doing good things" or someone excelling/working hard.

British. A date or sex partner who is of a lower social class. Similar to 'wrong side of the tracks'. Usually male.

Also applys to the decay of physical storage mediums.
