AS/S

In the Harry Potter fandom, AS/S stands for the relationship between Albus Severus and Scorpius--Harry and Draco's sons, respectively. Spawned after the epilogue to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was released, the term already has a wide fanbase on Livejournal. It is also called Scorpibus.

A term of rejection used to soften the the blow when dumping someone.

Often used with other phases like
"You are like a big brother to me."
"You are such a nice guy." and "It's not you, it's me."

Girl saying to boyfriend in training:
"You are such a nice guy, and I love you as a friend ...... "

As pissed as a newt

In Nelson's time Royal Navy junior ensign's were known as "newts." Being so young it didn't take much rum to become inebriated. Hence the expression "pissed as a newt."

Celebrating too quickly, he became as pissed as a newt.
Pissed= Inebriated
Newt= small semi-amphibian member of the salamander group.
