The annoying climb in numbers of "scensters" and "emokids" since 2006. Everyone seems to think dressing in neons and being "scene" and being "emo" and cutting themself is cool nowadays. >_> And typing like a $c3n3$+3r is cool. Stupid cunts. V_V It's when all the used to be preppykids suddenly thought being emo was a cool thing and started dressing emo but still making fun of the originals. -_-

scenelord

a scenelord is a person who follows all the 'really cool scene kid trends'
i.e. they usually look like the complete stereotype for a scene kid
the word was originally used as a piss take word for scene kings and queens
its seen to be quite offensive to be called a scenelord
and it is sometimes shortened to lord

'you look like a complete scenelord today'
'look at that prick over there with the stripes, what a fucking lord'
'i wish i was as much of a lord as you, nawwtttt'

A home, venue or work space that is located where all the cool kids hang-out granting access to climbing up the cool ladder right outside your doorstep.

"I'm checking out this spot around Milwaukee and Damen. The rent is crazy high and it's a shithole but it's got a huge window where I can hang art for all the hipsters to see when the clubs let out."

Scene Tax

Scene tax is any extra cost tacked onto the price of a product as a direct result of the product's reputation or "Scene", rather than redeeming qualities or actual worth. Most commonly seen in hipster fashion, guitar and bass amplifiers and many other instances, some styles are "revived" and sold at a high price when the exact same product would be worth much less and is potentially much cheaper elsewhere.

1. Guy 1: Yeah, I got this shirt at General Pants for $75!

Guy 2: Wow... you know I found that exact shirt around the corner for $5? I guess that's the price you pay at a place that thrives on scene tax.

2. Guy 1: I'm looking to get a Sunn Model T bass amp. They're fairly pricey. What do?

Guy 2: Don't think there is anything particularly special about the Model T, but I've not used one. Unltralinear output stage, probably a fairly standard tone stack at a guess. The price is scene tax.

Scene surfer

Urban chameleons. These are the kids you'll see at a rave one night and a punk show the next. They blend in with every crowd, although are not completely accepted by all. Known for being really intelligent and beautiful, although not necessarily in the mainstream sense. NOT HIPSTERS. There's like fifteen or sixteen per town.

A: I saw that kid at the {generic punk band name} show last night! What's he doing going to a jazz club?
C: He's a scene surfer.

Lev Bell just signed with the chiefs and now Clyde Edwards-Helaire is getting replaced. That's a tough scene.
