A device made by Apple computers on April 13, 2010. It is sort of a much better successor to Apple's MessagePad in 1993. Its form factor is a tablet, and tablets are sort of like a much bigger, functional phone. It's newest current model today (in 2020) is the iPad pro.

iPad kid

Refers to toddlers and children who are obsessively attached to iPads or similar handheld digital devices, often given by parents primarily as a means of appeasing their child's shorter attention span.

As a consequence, useful time that could have been spent on hands-on learning and the development of social skills is lost in favor of spending hours watching often very overstimulating or even inappropriate content on the internet, potentially hindering the child's healthy development.

The COVID pandemic especially saw a significant increase in the number of iPad kids.
