Junior Cert

A useless test taken by all Irish teenagers halfway through secondary school. It involves learning a tonne of shit that you'll forget when you're 18 like everything else at school, only in this case the result has no effect whatsoever on your later life.

Kid: Why do we have to study so hard?
Teacher:It's all going to show up in the Junior Cert.
Unfortunately the conversation ends here as nobody has enough balls to say,'why the hell do we do the Junior Cert?'

junior circuit

Nickname commonly used to describe the American League, one of two major divisions of Major League Baseball, as opposed to the National League, which can be referred to as the "senior circuit." (This is because the American League is much younger- it was founded in 1901 while the National League was founded in 1876.) It consists of fourteen teams: in the West division Los Angeles, (one of two franchises in the city) Seattle, Oakland, and Texas; in the Central division Minnesota, Chicago, (one of two franchises in the city) Detroit, Kansas City, and Cleveland; and in the East division Tampa Bay, Boston, New York, (one of two franchises in the city) Toronto, and Baltimore. The nicknames for these teams are respectively the Angels, Mariners, Athletics, Rangers, Twins, White Sox, Tigers, Royals, Indians, Rays, Red Sox, Yankees, Blue Jays, and Orioles. Notable players include Kansas City's Zach Grienke, Minnesota's Joe Mauer, and New York's Alex Rodriguez.

In this year's All Star game in St. Louis, the junior circuit beat the senior circuit 4 to 3.

A get together,in most cases a soiree,held by juniors.However, if one sophomore is really cool, such as Brian, said person may attend a junior party. Preferrable wardrobe,according to BJ, would be undergarments such as boxers.

Uncool sophomore: Hey Brian what were you up to yesterday?

Cool sophomore(Brian): Not much just went to a sweet junior party which you other sophomores were probably not invited to.

Junior firefighter

A junior firefighter or commonly known as explorer helps out the real firemen they get the bunker gear that firemen wear and they do everything a normal fireman would do except go into the building... They do things from changing air packs to Spraying the hose at the fire outside of the building many junior firefighters are so dedicated to the program they go to real firefighter meetings and drills....most explorers end up being real firefighters in the longrun Being a junior firefighter is great and will set a fun expierence for you As i said before you Get Bunker gear known as the equipment Firemen wear into the building Being a junior firefighter is GREAT!

Fireman:Hey Buddy/explorer Heres my air pack Change out the tank for me
Junior firefighter:Okay will do!
Fireman:Hey explorer! Get that hose out of the back pumper! Get it hooked up to the hydrant and spray that right window!

junior year

the worst year of your fucking life. The year that colleges choose to look at the closest out of all your years in high school. Because of said scrutiny, students tend to take an overload of challenging courses. This year is characterized by no more than 4 hours of sleep each night, no social life, mounting pressure, incomprehensible stress, never-ending tests (APs, SAT, etc.) and work. Many combine this with too many extra curricular activities which can also make you want to collapse by the end of every day.

Out of all years, finals week will be the toughest to get through during junior year.

effects of junior year can include, but are not limited to:
sleep deprivation, delirium, reaching brain capacity, involuntary twitching, physical manifestation of stress, decline in grades, and/or spontaneous combustion

Parent: "I know it's Junior Year and all, but it's not healthy to be so sleep deprived..."
Junior: "Colleges don't look at health!"

Friend: "wanna hang out?"
Junior: "Are you crazy?! It's Junior Year, no time to hang."
