Beauty Standards

A traditional form of beauty, typically for a certain country. Essentially just the ‘typical’ form of beauty. For example; in Japan, it’s a beauty standard to have larger eyes. Or, how in Mexico, it’s a beauty standard to have lightly tanned skin. Beauty standards vary from country to country, or from person to person, so it isn’t all the same globally.

Jessica: What are beauty standards?
Anne: A typical form of beauty in a country.
Jessica: So may I fit the beauty standard in one country but not another?
Anne: Just because you don’t fit into a certain beauty standard doesn’t mean you’re ugly overall! Different countries have different standards.

The Thriller Standard

Where fans, various music review sources and others use the Thriller Album to compare it to all other Michael Jackson's musical works and CD/album releases.

A review system of using the musical compositions on the original Thriller album released on November 30, 1982 to judge how great MJ's other works should be, knowing that other works will never live up to what that album was able to do musically, lyrically and for the music industry as a whole.

MJ's latest CD release is a hodge podge of garbage his producers need to get back to The Thriller Standard.

The Thriller Standard is the only standard for me.

The Bad Album only sold 30 million copies worldwide, MJ was off his game he can't touch the Thriller Standard.

Moral standards

Someone who holds no moral standard sacred has no true moral standards. Just like anyone can say god bless you (or even write a song about god) without believing in any god, anyone can claim to have moral standards.

A lot of people who claim that they lowered their moral standards are full of shit, they never believed in any of the moral standards they said they had in the first place. They never really believed in the rules they behaved within, but for some reason mindlessly kept behaving within these rules, norms, and standards, unless everyone else was breaking them, then they'd go along with the crowd and do what the crowd was doing so they didn't end up standing or being alone. They would range from wholesome, plain, and almost Puritan (no cursing, arrest everybody for being human) to anarchist, depending on what everyone else around them was saying/doing. A true coward is not someone afraid to stand, it's someone afraid to stand alone.

Community Standards

Often arbitrary and nonsensical overbearing "rules" created and constantly changed by basement dwellers to take revenge on the world for always getting picked last at sports or the prom. Added to and made more oppressive weekly, or whenever the moderators run out of hot pockets.
