An exaggerated trust in "experts" to the detriment of one's own critical thinking; a neediness for "experts" to validate a course of action, else that action should be suspect; a dependence on "experts" that suggests a lack of confidence in oneself; a worldview that is over-reliant on "experts." "Expertists" affirm expertism and will likely ridicule those who reasonably question "experts."

Expertism characterized the Covid era, as gullible people unquestioningly followed ever-changing guidance from "experts."

Expert phobia

Expert phob (noun): A person who has an irrational fear or anxiety towards experts or individuals who are more skilled or knowledgeable in a particular field.

John suffers from "expert phobia". An expert phob is defined as someone afraid of interacting with anyone with skills in an area where he lacks expertise. In John's perception, all the experts in society who have dedicated years to mastering a specific skill seem inferior and ignorant. John fears engaging with these individuals, so he often tries to avoid answering questions or running from technical discussions. John will not accept any answer from these people if it's an obvious answer like the time of the day.
