A basser is someone who can't play bass but gets put in the band for his/her charisma and rockin' stage presence.

Caolan is a great bassist; he can slap that thang. Martin, on the other hand, is only a basser; they won't even plug his bass in, but he looks like a rock star.

Basically a "cleaner" way of saying ass hole, referring from a comment made by gossip girl character Blair Waldorf to Chuck bass. And who wouldn't want to be thinking or the every so hot Chuck?

Bassist

Person who plays the upright bass not the fucking bass guitar because bass guitar isn't a real instrument. And upright bass is way more technically challenging than bass guitar and harder in general fuck the bass guitar. If you only play bass guitar don't call yourself a bassist. Say you play bass guitar
