Screenbait

A form of bait designed to provoke a user into saying or doing something that can be screenshotted and used against them—for humiliation, doxxing, ban appeals, or long-term harassment. Screenbaiting involves carefully crafted interactions that seem private or safe but are actually being documented for future weaponization. The baiter builds trust, encourages confidence, then captures the moment when the target lets their guard down—a private admission, an off-color joke, a moment of anger. That screenshot becomes ammunition, shared publicly, sent to employers, used to destroy reputation. Screenbait is the art of turning conversation into evidence, trust into trap.
Example: "She confided in a friend about her struggles with mental health, thinking it was private. That friend screenbaited her—screenshotted the conversation and posted it publicly, mocking her vulnerability. The trust was bait; the screenshot was the catch. She learned too late that some friends fish for pain."

Screenpot

A form of honeypot designed specifically to capture screenshots of users for negative purposes—a server, community, or group created to encourage private confessions, controversial opinions, or embarrassing moments, all of which are documented and weaponized. A screenpot might present itself as a safe space for venting, a private group for sharing secrets, or a confidential support community. In reality, every message is screenshotted, every confidence recorded, every vulnerable moment saved for future use. Users join seeking connection and leave as targets, their words preserved for humiliation, exposure, or blackmail.
Example: "The 'private venting server' seemed like a lifeline—a place to share struggles without judgment. Hundreds joined, shared their darkest moments, found community. Then the screenshots appeared on Twitter—every confession, every secret, every moment of vulnerability. The screenpot had been planted, cultivated, and harvested. Trust was the crop; destruction was the yield."

Screenpost

A form of goalpost manipulation where the ultimate objective is to obtain screenshots of a user that can be used against them. The screenpost is the moving standard of behavior that, once met, triggers screenshot capture and weaponization. First, the target must say something mildly controversial. Screenshot. Then they must defend it. Screenshot. Then they must apologize. Screenshot. Each response is documented, each adjustment recorded, building a dossier that can be used to portray the target in the worst possible light. The post moves until enough material is gathered—enough to get them banned, fired, humiliated, or destroyed.
Example: "They wanted to destroy his reputation, so they set up a screenpost. First, they asked his opinion on a controversial topic. He answered honestly. Screenshot. Then they argued with him until he got frustrated. Screenshot. Then they mocked his frustration until he snapped. Screenshot. When they had enough, they published the thread—'Look how unhinged this person is'—omitting their own provocations. The post had moved; the trap had closed."
