The Bro Card

Definition:
The card you pull on a friend to get what you want. It cannot be turned down without making the "bro" out to be a bad friend. Usually stated..."If you were my bro..." with no need to finish the sentence. * The Bro Card may never be pulled on a bro card itself.

Example:
1- C'mon man hand me a card under the table.
2- No Dude! I dont cheat!
1- If you were my bro.... (The Bro Card)
2- Ughhhh!! Alright! Here!
1- Thanks BRO!

*1- If you were my bro you would eat a booger."

2- If YOU were MY bro you wouldnt ask me to.

Pulling the Tard Card

When everyone around knows that the "special" one is responsible for the event that recently occurred, yet someone still manages to defend said "special" person by stating how he/she is too innocent to do such a thing and/or how they have the mind of a child so how could they possibly think of such a thing to do. Also, doing this usually fails, or humiliates the defender.

Jury: *Unanimously* We all agree that (insert name here) is guilty for killing and mangling the woman and her two children.

Bystander: Wait a moment, am I not the only one who thinks he/she is innocent? How could such a sweet young man/woman do such a thing? Look, he/she has the mind of a 3-year-old. No 3-year-old has ever done this sort of thing!

Judge: Sir/Madam, sit down, or I will hold you in contempt! No 3-year-old has the body strength of a 450lb gorilla, either!

Man in Jury: He's/She's Pulling the Tard Card!

Playing the A Card

Making reference to you or your child's autism diagnosis (as a form of disability) in a conversation with a service provider (or customer service representative) to lend greater urgency or import to your request, complaint or request for policy exception. Derived from similar term "Playing he Race Card", an idiomatic phrase that refers to exploitation of either racist or anti-racist attitudes by accusing others of racism.

I can't believe I had to wait in line for 30 minutes to pick up an item at Best Buy that was supposedly ready yesterday. After 10 minutes my son had a meltdown from the sensory overload of spending so much time in the bright, loud store.

You could see employees standing around doing nothing while I waited in line. When the manager working the desk made a comment that 'someone was a little cranky' (instead of apologizing for the inappropriate wait), I almost lost it. I'm still pretty angry but at least I got a $50 gift card after I complained to corporate, Playing the A Card.
