broom trick

The broom trick is a prank. When somebody is using the toilet, you get a broom out and gently lean it against the door. When they come out, the door swings in and BAM! The broom falls down and smacks the hard floor.

The real "trick" of the broom trick is that most people will feel embarrassed and put the broom away!

quarter trick

(n)- a now old style of shoplifting technique where there are two groups of people used in a shoplifting scheme. The first goes into a store and rips off sensor tags on merchandise (usually clothing or small stuff) and puts it back on the display pile. They leave a quarter or a penny or something to notify that the stuff is clean to grab. The second group comes in maybe a half hour/hour later and looks for the quarters (or pennies sometimes) on the floor or on the display racks and swipes the de-tagged items.

the act of deception in which a patron at a self-serve beverage dispensary orders water but in fact fills his/her cup with a soda/lemonade/tea of some sort that would otherwise have cost money. usually pulled by those who fleet and jesse.
