Expecting a player to play perfect instead of human in a game doesn't allow them to improve any, they're already expected to be at one hundred percent during one hundred percent of the time. The reality is people will make mistakes, and those mistakes will cost them.
The point is not whether you fumble, it's what you do after you fumble. Whether you can fumble and keep going, or whether a fumble breaks you down to the point you can go no further after one.
