A great 70's punk band with few songs, but good ones at that, and an attitude to go along with it. They, however did not invent punk rock, but their style was more raw than others.

Sex Pistols

Greatest punk band of all time. Fronted by John Lydon/Johnny Rotten, final lineup also consisted of Sid Vicious, Steve Jones, and Paul Cook. Greatest hit was most definitely "Anarchy in the UK", but "Bodies" and "Seventeen", often overlooked, are overall better songs.

The Sex Pistols may not have invented punk, but they redefined it. No future for you.

Sex Pistols

The most notorious punk band of all time. Started in 1976, the Sex Pistols' original lineup consisted of Johnny Rotten(b. John Lydon) on vocals, Glen Matlock on bass, Steve Jones and Paul Cook. The one and only time they were on national television, they swore 8 times. Fuck, 4 times. Shit, 3 times. Bastard, once. Their first release was God Save The Queen. Upon being released, it was banned from the majority of record stores in England. Their next release was Anarchy In The U.K. The Sex Pistols were the most publicized band in history because of all that circulated around Sid Vicious.

Definatly the greatest punk band ever, they were the first people to swear on TV and thats how they became famous because their music... well... nobody liked it at the time. Now though, they are renowned as great punk artists. Johnny Rotten, Sid Vicious, Steve Jones, Paul Cook and of course their "fantastic" manager Malcom McLaren, we salute you.

I wanna be an anarchist too! That sucks about Spungeon though.
