Excelsior

The Excelsior is the most diverse neighborhood in San Francisco. Almost at the border of Daly City, between Glen Park and Bayview. Formerly an all Italian and Irish catholic neighborhood, it now has people from everywhere, there is no racial majority or minority at all. this can be confusing and make people feel outnumbered - but by who? The point is, why feel outnumbered just because you dont see people just like you? Why not just enjoy all this culture we can access? Its got wide streets, lotsa sun, and 78% homeownership - the highest in the city. Residents care about their houses and want more parks and fun places for our zillions of kids. Heavily populated - at 6pm the place is flooded with blue collar types dragging home the kids and the groceries. Yeah, there are white folks here just like there are Samoans and everyone else. They all work hard for the American Dream of a cool house full of cool stuff and cool people to enjoy it with. These people are gonna rule the world one day. Oh, and Jerry Garcia grew up here. We hold a festival in Maclaren Park for him and all the cool folks who grew up in the Excelsior.

The Shreyas Exception

The idea that wearing socks prevents any action from being gay. Unlike the Sock rule which makes sexual activities not gay, the Shreyas Exception is the unwavering belief that nothing you do can be at all gay while wearing socks. In extreme cases, those who swear by the Shreyas Exception sometimes claim that not wearing socks is in itself a homosexual act, and as such sometimes avoid changing socks for long periods of time.
"Hey, did you see the guy with the rainbow flag? Do you think he's Gay?"
"No way, he has socks on, that's The Shreyas Exception, remember?"

Extension Brat

Any child who has grown up with a parent in the Extension Service, knows what MSU means, got excited when you turned 9 because you get to finally be a real 4-H'er, personally knows 10 or more Extension Agents- or has memorized who serves what county, tried to name every county and county seat in the state, and has played "Name That Noxious Weed" on many a road trip.
Have you seen the Eastern Region Department Head's daughter? Man, she is an Extension Brat.

Vandal Expressionism

VANDAL EXPRESSIONISM is a style of hieroglyphic fine art graffiti; a 21st-century take on the spirit of New York School Abstract Expressionism, filtered through pop art and reinterpreted in a cryptic graffiti language of its own.
Q: Hey, have you heard of Vandal Expressionism?

A: Why yes! I certainly have heard of Vandal Expressionism. I just became a fan of their page on facebook

thought expression

A thought which the thinker raises to a higher level by extracting it from his brain by saying it to himself and or others, verbally, nonverbally (such as by making a sound, a face, or a gesture), and/or by writing or drawing it. Expressing a thought also confirms to the thinker and those who are made aware of it that that thought was real, clarifies it, and makes it more useful. If the thinker or someone else records the thought in writing or in another way, it will not be forgotten and may help him in the future.
The following is an example of "thought expression". Carlos felt uncomfortable as the chair he sat on rolled away ever so slightly. Determined to do his homework, he attempted to ignore the feeling but told himself, "I felt it. I felt it," turned, got up, walked to the bedroom, and on his way there told himself verbally, "I felt afraid the chair would continue rolling and I would fall on the floor. That's what happened". With his feet on the floor and his knees bent, he laid back on his bed knowing that would calm him down. Knowing he is a hypersensitive person (HSP), he knew he could not deny his feelings because when he has, his body has given him some type of pain in his back, neck, or organs to remind him to not deny the things he feels. Today he also told himself, "Por algo...", to express his realizing that "God makes me feel the things I feel, for a reason."
