Contraction

A way to combine to perhaps unrelated words in a way that combines their meanings to some capacity and creates a whole new word with a compounded meaning.

A process by which larger things such as phrases or multiple words become smaller, such as a single word.
I combined two existing legitimate words to create a new word with a similar or conjoined meaning. Effective-Applicable Efficable. Contraction of things to become more dense. such as dense meaning or dense information aka Data.

The Contract

Millennial term for spouse or, generally, marriage. Shows the newly discovered disdain for old institutions like marriage.
Used as a pejorative about other's spouses preventing sexual relations.
I met this hot girl, she seemed to be down for the cause, then at the end of the night she got a text and had to run home to The Contract! Typical!

Shady Contractor

A shady contractor is someone who can talk up a storm while low-balling you i.e. makes a deal or arrangement that sounds good but really isn't.
"Rick was talking to me about all these small boxes that he had to move and how easy a job it would be for two people and that he would do most of the work, but when I went with him to help him all of the boxes were super heavy and we had to move them up sooo many flights of stairs and it took soo long."

"Damn! What a shady contractor!"

independent contractor

Someone who performs tasks even before he's been asked/hired/authorized to do so; he merely learns/overhears that something may need/be wished to be done, and so he himself steps in and completes said activity of his own accord, whether the people involved actually wish it to be performed or not. Just goes to show that you'll want to be really careful what you say when you're in the company of others --- you never know who might be listening, and then planning to carry out something that you merely mentioned about, not that you were actually asking anyone to perform for you.
MacGyver's arch-nemesis and professional gunman Murdoc takes the concept of "independent contractor" to a whole new --- and tragic --- extreme... even if the person who hires him merely wishes to have the mark scared --- or even if Murdoc's "employer" changes his mind and and no longer wishes Murdoc to perform said terrorism --- he continues to murderously pursue his mark anyway.

Someone who farms daddy’s 5000 acre canola farm, that only yields 5 ton and makes out its shit, then buys a fleet of either s 700 jd combines, 250 series case combines or revaluation new Holland combines. Then employs a team of uni students studying ag at University to become fun header drivers, as they start the harvest somewhere up norf.
Look at that 150 000 dollar cruiser with Victorian rego and every peice of kinchrome equipment on it,

it has to be a big Norfen Victorian contractor.

protractor vs. contractor

Refers to the debate over the benefits and drawbacks of using engine-powered vehicles instead of livestock to pull processing-implements for crop-fields. A protractor is a geometry device used to create/plot charts and graphs showing the various advantages that gas/diesel/electric motive-power has over horses or oxen, while a contractor is a hired professional whose job is to present the negative effects of motorized farm-machinery.
The whole protractor vs. contractor issue is not one that has an easy answer or solution --- on the one hand, modern farm-machinery is easier and simpler to operate, but horses and oxen do not cost nearly so much to purchase or maintain.
