A Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) is a type of electric vehicle that runs solely on electricity stored in its battery, with no internal combustion engine. BEVs are known for producing zero emissions and are charged through external power sources like charging stations

There are three types of EVs. Some run exclusively on battery power, while others combine battery and gas power.

- Hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs)
- Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs)

Subaru has raised their global electrification sales target to be 50% BEVs by 2030.
