Get the Trumped mug.Similar to being dumped. When your self-described "good friend"dumps you, saying that he never really knew you and tries to dissociate from you in the public eye. Can be done for a number of reasons:
1. Perceived disloyalty
- standing up for principles when those conflict with the friend's desires
- disobeying orders
- contradicting the friend publicly
- revealing that the friend lied
- claim to be superior to the friend in any particular trait
2. Loss in public status
- lose an election in which friend supported you
- accused of crime
- involved in scandal
3. No longer useful after having been useful in some manner
- somebody becomes more useful in same capacity (offers more money, more voting shares in board elections, can deliver more votes in political capacity)
- support of friend over principles and fact has reduced your credibility to the point that your support is no longer useful to the friend
