Not to be confused with being academically "smart", this slang term refers to when a child has successfully figured out the behavioral requirements to get more screen time from
parents, which may not necessarily be uniform from one pair of
parents to next. For example, a toddler with an IQ of "only" 78 is already allowed by his
parents to be on the iPad for hours on end. Whereas, a 20-year old college student is "only" allowed to watch YouTube for 1~2 hours per day just because he cannot afford moving out from parents' house yet.
That
kid is so smart—he knows exactly how to act to get unlimited
iPad time, while I'm stuck with just a couple of hours of YouTube each day!
