(1) Something only a few people in a close group know the true meaning about - Because they were THERE when it fucking happened. They didn't read it on some shitty urban dictionary internet site while they were all bored and high and then try passing it off as their own shit.

(2) Having celebrity status for doing something crazy good or bad - but only on one side of town.

high school famous

Shitty adults who, after graduating high school, haven't done much (if anything) noteworthy in their lives. Instead, the only reason why they're remembered at all is for their esteemed social status in high school, which is sadly the only thing they'll ever be remembered for.

Dude: Hey, isn't that Nick Rodgers?
Dude 2: Who?
Dude: You know, Nick Rodgers from high school... he was our quarterback, Prom King, all that shit.
Dude 2: Oh yeah, that's right. Doesn't he work at that tire shop at the edge of town?
Dude: Yeah, why?
Dude 2: Well, see. He's high school famous. But we're not in high school anymore, now are we?

internet famous

A limited and perhaps temporary state of notoriety enjoyed by people, groups, works or feats that are made public exclusively (or nearly so) via the internet. The audience is of limited size, though their devotion may be intense. The "internet" qualifier emphasizes the limited breadth of notoriety in this medium, and its easy-come, easy-go nature. Internet fame may be contrasted with fame conferred by traditional media, which have relatively much greater access barriers and which react to change much more slowly.

An "internet famous" person might be deeply admired, but the total number of admirers is invariably smaller than that of a conventionally famous television, music, or film celebrity. This notoriety might persist: it is not necessarily limited to a Warhol moment of fifteen minutes.

This expression has a neutral connotation; it is not pejorative.
