A gatekeeper is a selfish person who keeps songs from other people just so they can feel special and keep the songs for their own personal enjoyment.

Jake: I ain’t tellin u.
Quandale: Bruh u a L gimmie the song name.
Jake: No.
Jordan: the song is called (insert song name)
Quandale: preciate it bro, I’m finna bump dis all night.
Jake: Bro Jordan why did you tell him the song name???
Jordan: Cuz I’m not a Gatekeeper like you

In this situation Jake is a Gatekeeper

To gaslight someone, but for a good reason.

Person A: Hey, I just heard of this new game. I forget the name. It’s something like Sally Head?
Person B (totally knowing what Person A is talking about): Hmm, Ive never heard of that game. You sure it wasn’t a dream?
Person A: Yeah maybe. Eh it didn’t sound that fun anyway.

Yea i had to gateboss the game from them, they literally can’t take the emotional damage.
