It's one thing to feel outraged by criticism that isn't based on what a person is really like, when it is full of falsehoods and malicious intent and the other person is just talking shit. Nobody likes to be criticized, but really it's a matter of whether the criticism makes sense or is not unfair to the other person, and it doesn't have to be good natured to be legitimate.
