House Hunters

A show on the HGTV cable network that features a person or couple—usually wealthy or upper middle class—looking for a home that is often overpriced and too big for its own good. In my opinion the show promotes materialism, entitlement, greed and waste; and entices the viewer to keep up with the Joneses. What’s really funny is watching a couple wanting to buy another home just because they don’t like the floor plan of their current home or the color of the floors and carpet, or watching a young twenty-something couple buying a $300,000 home as their first place after getting married.

House Hunters typifies waste, entitlement and materialism in America, and is produced to entice you into keeping up with the Joneses. I wonder how many homes on the show have been foreclosed? Just a thought.

Spite House

The U.S. Congress was taken over by teahadist Republicans. These people who, for whatever reason, are opposed to anything proposed by President Obama. Even though the tea party is only a small, but growing, part of the Republican Party, they seem to hold the House under their control. The "spite" refers to this delusional minority holding the government hostage as they stubbornly try to get their way. This spite lead to the now infamous tea party downgrade and the equally infamous tea party shutdown These teatards would rather destroy our economy and credit rating out of spite than compromise with Democrats.

The tea party damaged America's credit rating out of spite and their opposition to reason and the tradition of compromise. The Republicans' Spite House is a big problem for Obama, the Congressional Democrats and all Americans!

lives in canada and eastern united states, house hippos eat chips, raisins, and the crumbs from peanut butter on toast. they make their nests out of dryer lint, lost mittens , and bits of string. the nest has to be very soft and warm, house hippos sleep, 16 hours a day.
