Was internationally known as a Sun Down town and still functions as such. Volga Germans settled what used to be known as Herzog but Victoria absorbed Herzog as they grew. They reminisce on when they were “savagely attacked” by the indigenous but also fail to mention their intentional participation in genocide. Every year in August, they throw Herzog Fest which consists of many traditions like polka music, German food, food trucks, and belligerently drunk red necks. Many people here still argue the history of the confederate flag and what it represents. You know that place where they expect you to be their cookie cutter idea of what they think someone is supposed to be? The rumor that everyone is related to another is true but many locals do not consider 3rd cousins close enough to matter. No use defending yourself here because they don’t care if they cause others harm. They claim to be perfect but won’t admit to driving out POC and intentionally perpetuating systemic oppression. They don’t take mental health seriously until the kid offs themselves then they throw a whole event to “bring awareness”. Uses their strong Catholic roots as excuses for the entitlement they subject others to. The schools would be private Catholic schools if they could pull it off but unfortunately for them, there are too many obstacles (people) in their way.

Victoria Junior College

Pretty ok jc, but kinda budget, cannot even afford adidas for my cca shirt 🙄, basketball still got puma sia. The people here are hardworking and enthusiastic in nearly everything they do, which is very shocking and lowkey pleasant, but also make me feel like shit for wanting to be selfish and lazy sometimes. There is a good mixture between ip and jae kids here unlike other integrated jcs which is a win else sch life will suck a ton. Canteen food is generally bombz but thanks to covid kena hyperinflation now I also gotta pay extra 10 cents for my go-to coffee which gives me more problems with change.

School environment is also very hype during events or assemblies which is very slay tho I feel like passing out from doing ‘the nights’ dance in the mornings.
