nu metal

I felt it was high time someone made a definition without opinions so here goes. Nu metal is a subgenre of metal emerging in the late 90s with bands like Korn,hence the name "new metal" later changed to nu metal to define it late ron when it wasn't new anymore. Nu metal fuses several subgenres of metal(mostly death and thrash metal)with rap VERY different from rapcore(rap metal)which is simply hiphop with metal as musical backing. Notice slipknot's use of turntables another nu metal thing,heavy use of turntables and such. No nu metal band is without a keyboard and synthesizer.
A perfect example of nu metal is linkin park's faint, notice how some of the lyrics are sort of rapped but others are sung in the traditional metal way (high pitched yelling, grunts and growls etc.)
Nu metal contrary to popular belief is real metal just new...anyone who was a metalhead in the 80s probably dislikes nu metal simply because its new. Face it, adults have always frowned at their kids music. Furthermore several nu metal bands have played at ozzfest before(and who are we to question the judgement of lord ozzy?).

Slipknot(sort of), Korn, Limb Bizkit, Linkin Park (exluding minutes to midnight). Nu metal.

Ghetto Mentality

1.)An example of a person being too mentally "into" ghetto subjects, clothes, music, or ways of life. These people normally speak ghetto slang-and when writing drop letters or replace letterss in words. They mostly live, speak, dress, talk, and breath ghetto, even when they aren't.

2.)The mentality of someone from the ghetto.

3.)The mentalistic way someone thinks/acts after viewing a ghetto based movie, show, or area.

4.)Kinda what people that are compared to Malibu's most wanted are.

Eric: "So how's that blonde chick you're going out with?"

Tony: "Horrible she got a strong ghetto mentality!"

Eric: "What you mean dude?"

Tony: "When we went to L.A. she wanted a room at a motel in the center of the East side"

noob metal

Tacky, shitty metal that stretches numerous subgenres of metal. It's been overplayed too much and is only liked by people with deplorable taste in metal. They claim the bands are among the greatest in metal, but realize that their taste is too noobish to be acceptable.

Dragonforce, Avenged Sevenfold, post-Black Album Metallica, Blessthefall, all screamo, Bullet for my Valentine and the like are all perfect examples of noob metal.

True Metal

True metal, is something "True Metalheads" use as an argument against what they consider "False metal." usually false metal is Nu-metal or anything with core. because it isn't as "heavy," or "brutal," as the godly genres that we know as Thrash, Black, and Death metal.
True metal only consists of Metallica, Exodus, Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer, Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Immortal, Mayhem, Iron maiden, Black Sabbath, etc.
False metal or Nu-metal/Metalcore/Deathcore consists of totes fake bands such as Slipknot, KoRn, Staind, Limp Bizkit, Killswitch Engage, Bring Me The Horizon, Chelsea Grin, Despised Icon, Suicide Silence, Whitechapel, As Blood Runs Black, Etc.
If you dare defend any of the bands labeled "False metal" prepare to be bombarded with death threats from "True Metalheads" or People sending you fucking Number of the beast 20,000 times

death metal

Although it seems in many places Death metal is a simply brutal primitive form of music, dealing with gore and satan and what not. There IS a form of it highly intelligent, and insanely technical. The Death Metal Bands from Quebec/Canada. This hermetic genre comprises the like of Cryptopsy, Martyr, Neuraxis, Quo Vadis, Gorguts, Spasm, Kataklysm, Unhuman (VERY undergrounds band, extreme technical death/grind), Disembarkation (also very underground, very progressive and technical, which all have the main quality of hyperblast-beats, complex brutal and technical riffing, and surprisingly very little refference to gore and the likes (with certain exceptions). Main themes lie in human psyche, self-developement, emotions, life and even some metaphysics. Others are pure reject of religion and anything conformising.

Well worth a listen to anyone not initiated to this incredible genre of music.

Cryptopsy follow Cannibal Corpse, yet push the limit farther by being more brutal and far more technical, not to mention having less pointless lyrics for the most part.

Sounds like death metal, but has biblically based lyrics. Makes fans of traditional death metal foam at the mouth and become the judgemental hypocrites they accuse Christians of being.

Uses the music of Satan to defeat his purpose.

Pwns noobs.
