Story Stomp

When you are conversing with a group of friends about a meaningful topic and the insecure, needy friend comes in and starts discussing non meaningful and completely unrelated topics as a way to regain the attention of the group.

Friend 1: So I think I might have the Cancer. I'm waiting for my test results to come back.

Friends 2 and 3: OMG, I can't believe this! What ---

Friend 4: Wow. So yeah, I just took a nice big poop. It was so big and steamy. It was pretty much like the best poop ever.

Shit Story Syndrome

The perpetual tendency to tell bad stories. There is always one person in a group who rambles about some bullshit that happened in their boring life, completely oblivious to the disinterest of those around. Those unlucky enough to be recipients of the seemingly endless Verbal Diarrhea are forced to cough up an occasional polite 'Mm-hmm' and 'Interesting'.

Severe cases of Shit Story Syndrome result in prolonged uncomfortable silences, quick change of topic, and the infamous 'cool story bro'.

'I don't think I can withstand a long coach journey with Sarah, her stories are just awful and I won't have the stamina to pretend to enjoy them for eight hours straight.'

'Yeah, she has Shit Story Syndrome.'

Pat Story

A story whose entertainment value and educational merit are, during relation, deceptively exaggerated far beyond their true significance in an attempt to gain social acceptance, usually involving extended family members.

Person 1: This weekend i was out sailing and a 20-25knt southerly was giving us constant wind, just cruising along.... then they said..... then my uncle mentioned that he had....... and as we were pulling up at the pontoon my cousin found a $20 note.
Person 2: Cool story Pat. Now as I was saying..
Person 3: i didnt want to listen to another Pat Story, Id rather watch grass grow.

Shrek story

Shrek story is a story you told to an individual so many times that the person can repeat the story back to you.

Michelle was telling her sister about the time her best friend brother was pretending to be Shrek. Her sister turned around and said you told me this story before let me tell you the story. And proceeded to say the Shrek story back to her.
