To kill. Mainly archaic. Possibly an impressive feat of arms resulting in the death of the opponent.
Past tense is either "slew", or occasionally "slain".

"Slay him!"
He slew his opponent in a duel.
St George is famous for having slain a dragon.

"smirking like an idiot"
you might laugh to yourself, but there's gotta be those people (and times) who do their best to hold in their laugh (to avoid being thought of as insane by their neighbors), and end up with an idiotic expression of joy on their faces.

slay can be used as saying you killed a creature or can be used to say you did something good or impressive.

"slay" or "slayed" Is a term used to hype someone up. it basically means "amazing" or "you killed that"

b: "slay."
