information superhighway

A cheesy, ebullient, woefully outdated term from the 90's, which means "Internet". Coined when all the people were massively wowed by the sheer awesomeness of the Intertubes. Nowadays in disuse unless you use it for comedy.
"With my brand new computer and the Internet, I have all the information I want within a single click of my mouse! If I want to find out how to look after a cat, I just have to type it in a search site, and WHAM! There it goes! How to buy a car? You can find it! Today's newspaper? You bet! Information for my daughter's chemistry paper? The Internet has it! Want to know about my son on student exchange in Norway? No problem! I just write him an e-mail, click "Send", and my letter travels all the way through the Atlantic and reaches him instantly and for free!"

You heard it: the Internet is the future of computing! Call now, and join the new Information Superhighway!

Information Systems

The great link between Business (or end process) and Computer Science
Involving the way information is gathered, processed, and used in a meaningful way.
Computer Science Majors – boast about how many lines of code they can write
Information Systems Majors – boast about how much money they have saved and created for overall business.
Business Majors – boast about their new sports car after high earnings and cut cost - dependent on the performance on their Information Systems which is dependent on Computer Science.
Information Systems creates logical use out of organizing and processing data through information technology.
IS makes CS useful
IS makes Business actually work (and increasingly so in the new Information Era)
Top IS programs: MIT and Carnegie Mellon
IS has yet to find a permanent home in the School of Computer Science, Business, Humanities
Professionals in IS who are really good at what they do are an asset to any company and are normally paid accordingly. Or can leave and find their place somewhere else (sometime creating their own business – usually successful)
IS professionals also have bigger hard drives than CS and Business professionals as well as cocks.
Hey man, did jimmy order those parts before he got fired?
No dude, our Information Systems does that automatically now.

CFO: "we need to be able to process 9 million transactions integrated with EDI and have our production line update automatically while being able to offer real time analysis and GPS tracking as well as electronic invoicing. Oh, and if one thing does not work correctly (even if the correct way contradicts our business logic) YOU ARE FIRED"

CIO: "Okay"

infasmell

The odor emitted by babies, kinda like the odor emitted by puppies, but babies. Refers more particularly to a baby's fragrant mixture of urine, feces and mother's milk.
As she entered the maternity ward, the infasmell reminded her of her days as a nanny.

The thick infasmell reminded Joe of his bastard.

Inframapping

Inframapping is the mapping of the infrastructure behind a web site or web service. Essentially to fingerprint or determine the unique characteristics or signature of a web site or web service for the purposes of categorization for fraud and enhanced security against Phishing scams and Identity Theft scams.

Inframapping as an anti-fraud, anti-phishing and anti-spam technique was coined as an anti-phishing technology phrase by SP Touch Group LLC in late 2010 with the introduction of the wumber anti-spam and wumber anti-phishing product family. The technique was designed specifically to aide in the identification and segregation of Phishing web sites and not permit a user to enter real authentication or login details into a fake web site which had been established for the purposes of Identity Theft or fraud.

Every web site and web service has unique characteristics from DNS (Domain Names Server) entries, IP (Internet Protocol) Addresses and server or machine names that participate in the formation and delivery of a web site or web service. These characteristics together form the Inframapping for the public (or displayed) portion of a web site or web service.
A web site called www.wumber.com will have a unique IP Address of say (192.168.10.200) and the ancillary services that support this web site may include Network Load Balanced addresses in a Round Robin style DNS arrangement of A Records say (203.11.120.20, 203.11.200.201, 198.229.119.20) while email or MX records for the service of Mail may be an array of mail services reporting mx01.wumber.com, mx02.wumber.com and mx03.wumber.com. As all IP Address records on the Internet uniquely identify a service, this arrangement is unique in the world and provides a unique signature or fingerprint for this service.

A web site pretending to be a real site will not be able to adequately or suitably create sufficient similarity in the real site and will be fingerprinted or Inframapped differently to the real site. The two sites, while they may appear identical to a human user, will generate two distinct and separate Inframaps and therefore be seen as totally unique when interrogated by any application which supports Inframapping.
